Working with Children
As a mother myself, with a career in paediatric nursing, I understand that children have worries or problems that sometimes need a little extra support.
Parents often come to see me desperately seeking some help for their child. These may include issues such as the child being worried about going on a sleepover or a school camp, crying
when going into school, OCD type traits, food issues/phobias, sleep problems, or anger outbursts.
During the sessions I explain to the child (and parent) in an age appropriate way how our minds work, and why we sometimes do things that we don’t want to do, and why we worry about
things.
We don’t focus on the problem itself, but instead focus on all of the positive aspects of their life. This builds up their self-confidence and helps them to regain the control they need.
Children are hugely rewarding to work with, and thanks to their amazing imaginations, are perfect candidates for hypnotherapy!
